ABOUT JESSIE MARYON DAVIES
"Joy is a revolutionary force"
Jessie Maryon Davies is musical energiser. In 2018, she was awarded The Unsung Hero award by Time Out recognising her achievements in building community through music. She performs regularly as a pianist both in classical and pop settings (Kate Nash, Ren Harvieu, Tone). She leads creative music projects in schools and community groups across the U.K and has conducted children’s choirs in Palestine and India. Jessie is Musical Director of trans-inclusive, women’s pop choir Lips who have performed at the Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall and live on BBC Television. In 2015 she co-founded the award-winning charity Girls Rock London to help build self-esteem and confidence among girls, trans and non-binary youth in London. As a composer, she specialises in co-creation and has written music for English National Opera, Wigmore Hall, City of London Sinfonia, Britten Pears Arts and Hightide Theatre. A passionate speaker on music’s unique power to strengthen community and enable personal development, Jessie has spoken live on BBC radio, delivered a Tedex talk and chaired panels at the Southbank Centre and Serious Festival. She trains and mentors young professional musicians at the Royal Academy of Music, Wigmore Hall and Spitalfields Music.

Troupe, Far Far Away
Jessie was a founding member of music theatre ensemble TROUPE (2009 - 2022) who devised and performed classical theatre shows for Wigmore Hall, Spitalfields Music and the Sao Paolo festival of chamber music.
Jessie has created classical music story-telling shows for children for City of London Sinfonia, Britten Sinfonia and Wigmore Hall.

PIANIST
Classically-trained/ Session work/ Glorybox
Currently playing live keys with Kate Nash (Glastonbury 2024, BST Festival, Rough Trade East, eARTh Hackney) as well as arranging and conducting live strings (Koko). Played with Ren Harvieu, (Moth Club) the Dylemma Collective, Sonia Leigh and TONE (Jazz Cafe). Member of Glorybox: a three-piece band playing synth-driven, energising and genre-blending tunes which draw on their love of 90s dance and RnB, with an edge of rock.

Jessie has 15 years' experience as a workshop leader working for many of the U.K's leading arts organisations including Wigmore Hall, English National Opera and Royal Academy of Music.
She was Chorusmaster at the CBeebies BBC Prom in 2018
